Band Components:

Wesley Schultz, vocalist and guitarist, and Jeremiah Frates, drummer and percussionist, are the two founders of the group and they began performing in 2005.  In 2010, a woman joined the group, by the name of Neyla Pekarek (vocals and cello).  In 2012 two other new members appeared: pianist Stelth Ulvang and bassist Ben Wahamaki. The debut album, from which Ho Hey chords was extracted, is named exactly like the band and was released under Dualtone Records and declared platinum in Ireland and gold in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada.

The Single:

The first single of the band, Ho Hey chords and lyrics, was the song of the season finale of CW’s Heart of Dixie. John Richards, a radio DJ, discovered the song among the new CD’s he received and started to play it in a morning show repeatedly.  While the album reached place 11 in the Bilboard 200 album chart, the single was number 3 in the Bilboard Hot 100 chart.  In December 2012, the single was sold in two million copies and the band had their first Double Platinum.
